mentorship  through  education

MENTORING OUR REGION YEPPOON

Presented by Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal in association with Regional Arts Development Fund and Livingstone Shire Council, Mentoring our Region Yeppoon is a detailed three week online initiative for Livingstone Shire emerging and practising film artists where they learn film arts skills from industry professionals with the intention of creating short films to premiere at 2023 festival.

INITIATIVE INFORMATION

The activity will provide educational skills from industry professionals including: Direction, Cinematography, Sound, Writing, Production, Editing. After the workshops completion, participants will be mentored through each stage of production as they create short films to screen at the upcoming 2023 Capricorn Film Festival.

The project aims to offer up to 10 Livingstone Shire residents access.

The completed works will be intended to be created by them only or with a small group of others. Projected works include but not limited to: documentary, nature, expressionism in film and narrative, though must be centric to the Livingstone Shire and its identity.

Their completed works will screen at the upcoming 2023 Capricorn Film Festival in a specific category aimed to promote and celebrate the local artists and their voices.

The participants will tell theirs, the environments and their communities stories, aimed to promote the region and develop their skills for future opportunities.
