COVID SAFE EVENT FAQ's
WHAT IS CAPRICORN FILM FESTIVAL DOING TO ENSURE THE 2023 FESTIVAL IS A COVID SAFE EVENT?
The festival team are taking every step and precaution to ensure #capfilmfest2023 is as safe as possible for all attendees, staff and volunteers. The 2023 Capricorn Film Festival is operating under the industry-standard COVID Safe Event Checklist provided by the Queensland Government. This checklist can be viewed by contacting the festival team via email or phone.
WHAT WILL BE DIFFERENT ABOUT THE FESTIVAL DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS?
We have always had the community's safety high on our list of priorities. Because of this, we have made the decision to cap all indoor ticketed sessions at 75%. This allows our audience to create bubbles with their film-loving friends and enjoy the cinema experience, knowing that the festival has created an environment where social distancing can be achieved. As an organisation we fall under Queensland Government and Livingstone Shire Council Health restrictions. These may change daily or hourly. We will update as required.
WHAT DO THE COVID SAFE PRECAUTIONS MEAN FOR MY FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE?
To help us make the event as safe as possible it is encouraged that tickets are pre-purchased online prior to the screenings and other activities so as to minimise queuing and in-person contact, though tickets will be available via at each event to purchase via EFT. It is also recommended you allow extra time prior to event start time to allow for contact tracing and screening protocol. Furthermore, if you are feeling unwell or are displaying any symptoms please do not attend any festival events.
WILL THERE BE CASHLESS OPTIONS FOR BUYING TICKETS AT THE DOOR OR FOOD AT THE BAR?
As of September 2020, we will be using cash and cashless systems. This will include the bar and cafe. the following cards will be accepted. Eftpos chip cards, EMV chip cards, NFC cards and Smart Phone's with credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, & Samsung Pay.
I AM UNABLE OR DO NOT WISH TO ATTEND THE FESTIVAL IN JANUARY. CAN I GET A REFUND?
If you purchase a Festival Pass and are unable or don’t wish to attend in January, you can request a full refund which will be provided net of booking and processing fees. By retaining your ticket you’d be providing welcome support to the Australian film and television industry during a challenging time.
I HAVE BOUGHT A TICKET OFF SOMEONE ELSE. IF I REQUEST A REFUND WOULD THE ORIGINAL TICKET OWNER GET IT, OR WOULD I?
The ticket will be refunded to the person who purchased the ticket via the Capricorn Film Festival website or facebook page. If you have purchased your ticket off someone, you will be required to arrange a refund through the original ticket purchaser.
WHAT MEASURES WILL YOU PUT IN PLACE TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE?
We will follow the advice of the Australian and Queensland Government and health authorities to implement any health and safety measures to ensure the safety of our patrons. We will release further information about our plans when it is available.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO AS AN ATTENDEE TO ENSURE THE EVENT IS SAFE FOR EVERYONE?
Aligning with current QLD Government regulations mask usage is not required. However, all other hygiene and social distancing protocol are to be strictly adhered to. Hygiene stations will be present at all festival entrances. As a festival patron, it is required that direction from volunteers and staff be complied with for the safety of all in attendance. Please be conscious of other attendees and staff particularly in queues.
