About the event

A series of sessions and masterclass using artists, filmmakers, actors and film industry professionals.

MASTERCLASS: Kalu Oji

An intimate filmmaker masterclass with the director of Pasa Faho Kalu Oji, exploring his creative process, cultural storytelling, and working across

borders.

TALK: Making Powerful Documentaries on a Small Budget

Join documentary filmmaker Jaydon Martin for an honest, practical workshop on crafting compelling documentaries with limited resources. Drawing on his experience making Flathead, Jaydon will unpack the creative and logistical realities of low-budget filmmaking — from developing story and access, to shooting lean, building trust with subjects, and shaping a strong edit. Ideal for emerging filmmakers, students and creatives looking to turn ambitious ideas into finished films without big budgets.

TALK: Story, Legacy & Voice in Documentary Filmmaking

In this intimate workshop, filmmaker Lorin Clarke explores the creative process behind But Also John Clarke — a deeply personal documentary examining legacy, memory and voice. Lorin will discuss navigating family stories, balancing intimacy with audience perspective, and shaping narrative when the filmmaker is emotionally close to the subject. This session is ideal for filmmakers interested in character-driven, reflective documentaries and those exploring personal or archival storytelling.
